Student FAQs

What is the purpose of Discover UC San Diego?

The purpose of Discover UC San Diego is to address existing inequities in college access by giving students the opportunity to enroll in university-level courses, at low or no cost, before they apply to college.

What are the requirements for Discover UC San Diego?

The Discover  UC San Diego program has been designed with high school students in mind. If you are a current high school student in a partnering school district, please refer to the Partnership Enrollment site.

If you are a current high school student not from any of our partnering school districts, please refer to the Open Enrollment site.

Graduating seniors (completed by spring semester/quarter) do not qualify for the program.

In the future, community colleges and other learners in California will be able to participate as well.

Do I get college credit for Discover courses?

Discover UC San Diego courses provide lower division credit. The courses are UC/CSU/CC transferable, and students will earn 4 quarter units at UC San Diego.

If you are interested in applying to these programs, you should refer to the UCSD Admissions website or the admissions office of the UC campus you wish to attend for details about the admissions process

Are Discover UC San Diego courses A-G approved?
